SanDisk Ultra II SD Plus 2GB Card
Everyone needs a memory card to hold their digital photos and if you're traveling or really busy you don't want to be carrying a card reader around with you.
San is a French word that means "without" and with this nifty little gadget you can really be without a digital card reader. You can connect via a USB port with the very clever hinged cover which turns the card into a plug so you can unload your pictures into your hard drive.
The more gadgets you have the slower things run, so the fact that this is a high speed card reader is a real bonus. With 2Gb of space there's plenty of room for loads of photos and videos. Using RAW will eat up space on your camera memory, so this is a excellent way of managing the memory. Even for older cameras this is a great solution.
You don't have to stick with cameras and photos either, you could use this as a miniature hard drive for your computer if you need to transfer data from one machine to another, perfect if you need to move files from your work computer to home or for a presentation if you're away at a conference.
Because of the USB adaptor you can use it in any of your devices or computers. You will most likely find that you don't even need the USB cable for your camera.
The hinge is the weakest part, so care is needed when you're opening and closing the card for use with a USB port, but as long as you are gentle there shouldn't be any problems with it. The other possible issue is that you need to be careful about inserting it into the USB port the right way up. Once you've done it a few times though it should be fine, just make sure that the label faces down (if you're still not sure put a small dot or mark with a Sharpie that will help you remember).
