Lonely Sunflower

by Sheryl Chacon
(Riverdale, New Jersey USA)

I was traveling alone a small county road and came upon a beautiful sunflower field. It was raining, just a light misty rain. I walked through the field in the rain with a piece of clothing protecting my camera while shooting as many sunflowers as I possibly could. Then, stopped shooting and for a few moments enjoyed what I truly had stopped the car for. To enjoy the sunflowers and feel the misty rain on my cheek. Sometimes we get all caught up in capturing that right shot (composing the photo, altering our setting on the camera, positioning yourself etc.) and truly don't take that moment to throughly enjoy what we are photographing.
