Pork Roast In Sink With Knife

Pork Roast In Sink With Knife

The photo was taken with my Canon Powershot A530 digital camera, on auto mode. No flash was used. Behind the kitchen sink the roast is in is a window, which seemed to be bringing in some light from the rear. I also had one of the overhead kitchen lights on.

I took lots of pictures of the roast, and this one stood out. I think it has something to do with the way the light that's reflected in the sink is framing the meat, and all the textures in the picture - the stainless steel, the meat, the folds of skin, the droplets of water, the ebony knife handle - all those contrasting looks seemed to fit together.

One question. Did it taste as good as it looked?

Well done

Hi Bill,

Using available light worked really well in your pork photo. Flash would have killed it and burnt out areas of the tin where it reflected back at the camera. The shadows would have also been heavy and dark.

You have certainly captured the textures of the different substances, the meat looks so real I could touch it!

Great job. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
