About 15 minutes before sundown there is a warm glowing light that hits our front yard. Sadie is a very patient dog and will sit for long periods of time. She belongs to my neighbors but is very much at home with my wife and I.
Lovely dog. Yes that hour before the sun goes down in my favourite light of the day. It is known as the Golden Hour and it bathes everything with a soft warm toned, low angled light that enhances anything it touches. I have some outdoor portraits of my daughter that were taken in this type of lighting condition that I love.

As you are lucky enough to get this light in your garden every day, why not have another try at capturing Sadie, if she is obliging? See if you can get a lighter area behind her so that she stands out from the background, although this is a good photograph it would be improved if you were able to do this. Some of her black fur is tending to disappear a little here.
